In about 1990 I was visiting with a neurosurgeon in a very popular Iowa hospital. He was a very prominent neurosurgeon (He was one of the consulting doctors called to Dallas, Texas when President John Kennedy was shot)
He was also my first wife's neurosurgeon that preformed one of the three surgeries she underwent during her struggle with a brain tumor.
We were alone once and I asked him "Doctor, can stress cause brain tumors?" He looked me straight in the eyes and responded; "Stress can cause almost any illness." He then added; "You would be very wise to try and spend the rest of your life (I was 52) reducing as much stress in your life as possible"
He continued; "It will be difficult because many people get jealous when they are stressed and they see you are relaxed and calm." "They then, many times, will try to bring you down to their mind level."
You must fight it with a continued relaxed state of mind and meditation (talking to your "Higher Power" ....God. You talk to Him through Prayer.
It is with this in mind that I decided to pass along some meditating suggestions in the form of scripture and thoughts related to those scriptures in this Blog. I must tell you that much of this is not original. I have borrowed a lot of it from friends and relatives from present and past.
Hope you enjoy these writings and benefit from them. Please respond in the comment portion of each Blog or sign the Guest book.
